Just getting started with WordPress? Maybe you’re concerned that all of the WordCamp sessions will be over your head. Wouldn’t it be great if someone would walk you through WordPress from the beginning, step by step?
No problem! We’ve got you covered with a WordPress 101 track.
WordPress wants you and we would love for you to experience WordCamp Philly!
I am a Graphic Designer who is currently balancing re-launching my career while raising two children after about a decade of being mostly Mom, CEO of Life. WordPress sort of fell across my lap a few years ago and I was hooked. I LOVED WordPress and wanted to dig deeper but was terrified to show my face at an actual event.
Eileen Violini, Ebonie Butler and Chris Diehl are joining the WordCamp Philly 2017 organizing team, bringing their unique talents to the group. Welcome!
Three times as many potential new members submitted applications to WordCamp Philly as the team could take on board.
WordCamp Philly 2017! It happens on October 28-29, and you should get your ticket now.
Sure, summer’s not quite here, and October seems way off in the distance. Days pass quickly, though — especially summer days — and there’s always so much to do. It’s easy to put things off, even things you really mean to get to. And WordCamp Philly is not something you want to miss.
WordCamp Philly is now looking for speakers! It’s your expertise and willingness to share your WordPress stories that makes our event a success. This is your opportunity to shine.
We want to shape the best possible WordCamp experience for all — attendees, speakers, volunteers, sponsors, and even organizers. With that in mind, we have some guidelines as to what we’re looking for and how we’ll select our speakers.
Important: Deadline for Application
The application period to speak at WordCamp Philly 2017 closes on Friday, June 30, at 11:59 pm Eastern Time.
But we haven’t said anything yet about why you might want to sponsor WordCamp Philly. Here are a few reasons to join us in October.
Many hands make light work.

Over the course of many Philly WordCamps (and two US WordCamps), we’ve found this to be universally true: Organizing a successful WordCamp requires a lot of behind-the-scenes work and a lot of people in order to make those work levels reasonable. As we strive to deliver another successful WordCamp Philly in 2017, the WC Philly organizing team is seeking further support from our local community. More specifically, we’re eager to add two to three people to our team to help us plan, organize and run WordCamp Philly 2017.
We are happy to share that WordCampPhilly 2017 will be Saturday and Sunday, October 28-29, 2017! We’re working hard to progress plans for the return of Philly’s own WordCamp. Here’s what we can give you so far:
- LOCATION: WordCampPhilly will be at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. We’ll be in new, fully equipped, air-conditioned classrooms with AV and good wifi. There is free parking on campus. Public transportation is also available.
- TALKS + PANELS: The main event is on Saturday, October 28. It’s a full day of talks and panels on a wide variety of topics.
- CONTRIBUTOR DAY: On Sunday, October 29, we’ll have a Contributor Day, also at the amazing campus of University of the Sciences.
As we finalize details around accommodation, food, and more, we’ll be sure to post the information here. In the meantime, be sure to get your tickets now and to subscribe for updates.
