Halloween’s the Theme! Costumes Are Welcome at WordCamp Philly

It’s a bit of a no-brainer that our theme is Halloween — but rest assured, we are totally into it. Whether you decide to show up to sessions in costume, present your talk dressed up or save it for the After-Party, we encourage the costuming! WordCamp is already tons of fun, so why not add a bit more?

Personally, Halloween is my favorite holiday. I’ve done everything from the Donnie Darko rabbit (I painstakingly hand-made the mask), to the Operation game with buzzer and all, to Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy, to Maleficent, to Michonne from Walking Dead. I for sure plan on bringing my costume A game to WordCamp Philly!

We’re so totally into the Halloween theme that we’re going to give out prizes for costume wearers!

There will be a box at registration for you to write down your name and your costume. You don’t have to wear it to the sessions but we hope that you do. You do have to wear it to the After-Party to be eligible for a prize. During the After-Party we will randomly draw names out of the box for the prizes. If you aren’t wearing a costume when we call your name, then no prize for you. If you aren’t at the After-Party when we call your name, then no prize for you. It’s a win-win situation. Embrace your inner child and wear a costume, have a ton of fun, and get a chance to win a prize!

We’ve been tweeting out costume inspiration and will continue to do so. Just in case you missed some here’s a backlog.

Even if you don’t rock a costume, we’re still looking forward to seeing you there. We hope that you enjoy dressing up and/or seeing all of the creativity that shows up!
