With No Takers, Free Child Care Service Canceled for ’17

Thank you all for responding to our inquiries regarding child-care needs. Due to a lack of demand, we have decided to cancel the service for WordCamp Philly 2017. Children are totally welcome at WordCamp Philly. We will just not be providing any sort of child care.

In view of the lack of demand, we wanted to act as good stewards of the community funds with which we are entrusted. We also needed to respect the provider’s scheduling needs by giving appropriate notice. We would consider providing child care at future WordCamps in the event that it seems appropriate.

From the time you walk into WordCamp Philly and register, we’ll make sure you are well fed!

First, we’ll serve a delicious breakfast. Coffee/decaf and tea, naturally – with soy milk and half-and-half available. Coffee or tea not your cup? We’ll also have assorted juices and bottled water. Bagels and muffins, too, in regular and gluten-free/vegan varieties! Cream cheese, butter, honey, and jelly will be available. And a nice fresh fruit salad.

WordCamp Philly 2017! It happens on October 28-29, and you should get your ticket now.

Sure, summer’s not quite here, and October seems way off in the distance. Days pass quickly, though — especially summer days — and there’s always so much to do. It’s easy to put things off, even things you really mean to get to. And WordCamp Philly is not something you want to miss.
