What to Bring

As Contributor Day is all about getting involved with supporting WordPress as an open source project and community, it’s best to come prepared to learn, share and work. Here’s a general list of items you’ll want to have with you:

  • Laptop with power cord
  • Pen/pencil and notebook

What to Do in Advance of Contributor Day

It’s very helpful and sometimes necessary to have a WordPress.org account. If you do not already have one, please take the time to set one up: Register an account on WordPress.org.

If you’d like to read up about the different teams that work together to support the WordPress project, you can read more about it on the Make WordPress website. To be clear, it takes all sorts of skills and interests to move the project forward.

Whether you’re a designer, developer, writer, project manager, marketing consultant or just learning the ropes of any of these roles – and more! – there is plenty of opportunity for you to get involved with WordPress.

What to Expect

Contributor Day is a mix of getting to know how to get involved with the WordPress project and with actually supporting the project. There will be a short presentation on the different teams supporting WordPress. There will then be opportunity to get involved with the teams that are present on the day. (We don’t know for sure what teams will be presented on the day. We’ll just have to see who shows up. It’s more fun that way!)
